Print Area is the collaborative outlet between textile printer Laura Heckford and graphic designer Urjuan Toosy. Laura and Urjuan met whilst studying a degree in Graphic Design and have gone on to collaborate on a multitude of projects combining their shared passion and enthusiasm for pattern, form and the development of work through analogue print processes.
Print Area was conceived whilst working at University for the Creative Arts Epsom in the Graphic Departments’ Print Area where they spent time teaching and experimenting with open silkscreen printing and binding processes. As Print Area, Urjuan and Laura experiment with a range of techniques developing their knowledge of processes through silver-gelatin prints, silk screen printing, textile printing and letterpress.
Print Area design and hand make bright and colourful items for everyday use. All products are unique and handmade in Britain, with stockists including Au Pont Rouge and The Poundshop at ICA.
Print Area are currently open to commissions, bespoke designs and enquiries from stockists.
